Slim Ribbed Bracelet

I have worn exactly two bracelets in ten years without breaking out and this is now one of them. Nickel gives me a raised itchy patch within about an hour, so I tested this carefully before committing to it. Two days in with no reaction and I stopped worrying entirely. It has now been on my wrist most days since March, including overnight and while damp from the shower, and my skin is completely calm. The stretch band helps too since nothing digs into one spot the way a fastened bracelet does. I ordered a second one because finding jewelry my skin tolerates almost never happens.

I have a long history of gold plated bracelets turning coppery on me within weeks, usually right where my wrist bone rubs. This one has been on daily since February and there is nothing, not on the underside, not in the ribbing, not anywhere. I work in a bakery so it deals with flour, steam, constant handwashing and a fair amount of sugar syrup. I have never cleaned it beyond running it under the tap. The gold is still the same warm tone it was in the listing photos, which is honestly the first time that has happened to me. My coworker asked where it was from because she assumed it was solid gold.

I put this on the day it arrived and it has not come off since, which was not the plan. It goes in the shower with me every morning, shampoo and all, and it has been in the pool more times than I can count. I swim laps twice a week and the chlorine has done absolutely nothing to the gold. Because it just rolls on over my hand there is no clasp sitting in water, which I think is half the reason it has held up so well. I have also worn it through the ocean on two trips and rinsed it under a tap afterwards, nothing more. Four months of constant water and the ribbing is still as crisp and bright as it was new.

There is a bone that most bracelets rub raw on me and this one does not touch it uncomfortably. The rounded profile is the reason.

The ribbing is crisp and the fit is comfortable. The gold tone is brighter and more yellow in person than the muted colour in the images. I have adjusted, but it was a surprise.

The gold tone is genuinely lovely and it catches light nicely. It is a subtler piece than the photos imply — worn on its own it reads a little plain, so I tend to double it up.
