Sailor Knot Bracelet

My husband and I are out on the boat every weekend from April through September and salt spray gets on everything. I wore this bracelet on purpose to test it because a nautical chain that cannot handle saltwater felt absurd to me. It has been drenched in ocean spray probably twenty weekends running, plus swims off the back of the boat and the outdoor shower at the marina. I rinse it in fresh water when I remember, which is maybe half the time. There is no corrosion in the link joints, no white salt crust that will not come off, and no dulling of the gold anywhere. This is the first piece of jewelry I have owned that genuinely belongs on a boat.

I am the person who takes a photo of new jewelry on the first day specifically so I can prove to myself later how much it faded. It is a habit born of buying too many disappointing gold chains over the years. This one has been worn nearly every day since late February through showers, workouts, dish washing, and a lot of hand lotion. When I pulled up that first photo last weekend and held the bracelet next to my phone, the color was identical. There is no pink at the clasp, no coppery edge on the knot stations, and no dullness on the underside. For a chain in this price range that is genuinely the first time I have seen it.

I have a nickel allergy that flares from almost anything metal, and wrists are the worst spot because a chain sits in the same place all day. Every gold tone bracelet I tried in the past decade left a red itchy band that took a week to fade. This one is stainless steel with no nickel in it and I have worn it almost daily since February. There has been no rash, no itching, and no redness even during the sweatiest stretch of June. I have also worn it through showers and workouts where damp metal usually guarantees a flare for me. Being able to wear a proper chunky chain again after this long feels like getting something back.

Every person who has commented assumed a designer name. The oval link shape is clean enough to pass for something far pricier. I have stopped volunteering what I paid.

The bracelet looks great on and the gold tone is exactly as shown, so I am very happy with it. It simply took longer to reach me than the estimate suggested.

Our pool opened in May and this has been in it several times a week since. No clouding and no rough patches on any link. It comes out of the water shining.
