Romantic Ring

My real concern with a textured band was salt getting trapped in the ribbing and eating it from inside. Two beach weeks in Florida with this on the whole time, including swimming every morning. I rinsed it under the tap once a day and that was the entire maintenance routine. The gold in the bottom of the grooves is the same color as the ridges on top, which is where cheap plating always gives itself away. No white crust, no dull patches, no roughness when I run a nail across it. It came home looking like it never left the box.

I have owned three textured gold bands before this and every one of them went dark in the recesses within about six weeks. That grimy shadow line between the ribs is the reason I stopped buying them. This one has been on my finger since early March through gym sessions, cooking, cleaning and a lot of sweaty commutes. I held it under a bright lamp last night specifically hunting for that dark buildup. The grooves are still bright gold all the way down, same as the day it arrived, and I have never polished it once.

My hands flare up badly and I have not been able to wear a ring on that finger in years without a rash forming under it. This band has been on constantly since March with nothing underneath it, no clear coat, no tape, nothing. The skin under it is completely normal, not even dry. What surprised me most is that sweat sitting in the grooves against my skin during workouts has not triggered anything either, because that trapped moisture is usually the exact thing that sets me off. I have since bought a second one for my other hand. My dermatologist looked at it and said whatever alloy this is, keep wearing it.

I usually take a six and a half and had to think about which way to go. Went up and it sits fine, just spins slightly on cooler days. The ring itself is well finished and I do like the ribbing.

My two year old grabs and twists my rings all day. This band has been yanked, chewed on and dropped on tile. Not one dent in the ridged edge.

It is amazing how much a bit of texture changes a plain band. This one has genuine presence on the hand for something so slim. Easily my favorite everyday ring.
