Riviere Bracelet

I have a well documented nickel allergy and my wrists are where it shows up worst, usually as a raised itchy band that lasts a week. That has ruled out every affordable sparkly bracelet I have tried over the past decade. This one is stainless steel with nothing that reacts and it has been on my wrist essentially every day since March. Through gardening, workouts, showers, and long humid days my skin has stayed completely clear underneath. Not one bump or red patch in four months, which for me is unheard of. I bought a second one for my daughter who has exactly the same problem.

I bought this expecting to keep it for evenings out and instead it has become the thing I never take off. Since March it has been through every shower, three separate lake weekends, our neighborhood pool most afternoons in June, and a week of ocean swimming in Myrtle Beach. Water gets trapped behind set stones and that is exactly how my last two sparkly bracelets turned gray and lifeless within a season. This one still looks clear from the back of every setting, which I checked carefully under a lamp because I did not believe it. The gold has no water spots or dull patches anywhere along the row either. Four months of genuinely careless treatment and it still looks like jewelry counter stock.

The tell with cheap gold plating is that a warm copper tone starts creeping in around the edges of each setting after about six weeks. I have watched it happen to three tennis bracelets and once you notice it you cannot unsee it. I have worn this one nearly every day since late February and there is no hint of that anywhere on the row. That is despite daily hand sanitizer at work, perfume, hairspray, hand lotion, and a lot of humid weather. I keep checking it under the bright light in my bathroom because I genuinely expected to catch it starting by now. The gold is still the same clean yellow it was in the box.

The stones are lovely and clear and it looks far more expensive than it was. On my small wrist it sits a bit loose and turns over, so a shorter option would suit me better.

Once on it is effortless and I wear it daily. The clasp needed a bit of practice in the first week.

It drapes over my wrist exactly like the day it arrived. No stiff links from soap or water working into the joints. Every section still moves freely.
