Nova Ring

I have not been able to wear a bold ring for years because anything wide leaves my finger red and itchy by the afternoon. This one covers a good stretch of my finger and I have had zero reaction in months of near daily wear. No itching, no redness, no green mark, not even on hot days when my hands swell. The band is smooth and rounded on the inside so it never digs in or rubs raw. I have worn it through long shifts, through gardening, and to bed more than once by accident. It is the only large ring in my jewelry box I actually reach for.

I got this in June and it has been in water almost daily since. Sea swims on holiday, a lot of pool time with my kids, and every shower because I never remember to take it off. The dimpled surface is where I expected water to sit and leave cloudy marks and it simply has not happened. It looks the same under bright light as it did the day it arrived, including the inside of the open oval where water would collect. All it has ever needed is a rinse and a wipe on a towel. For a ring this size I am amazed it has stayed this pristine.

My worry with a textured statement ring was the finish wearing off the high points and going pinkish underneath, because that is what happened to a very similar ring I owned last year. Five months of daily wear and every raised facet on this one is still the same warm gold as the recesses. There is no coppery edge anywhere, no dull ring on the inside of the band, and nothing dark collecting in the hammered dips. I wear it stacked against a plain band that rubs it constantly and even that contact point looks untouched. It genuinely has not changed tone at all since February.

No pressure or soreness at all, even after long days. It does stand up off the finger, so it bumps my pocket lining occasionally. Easy to live with once you notice it.

Absolutely lovely to look at and the hammered gold is gorgeous in the light. It does cover a fair bit of my finger, so it is more of an occasion piece for me.

No complaints whatsoever about the ring, which looks far more expensive than it was. The packaging was very simple, which mattered only because I was giving it away. I rewrapped it and nobody knew.
