Marcela Earrings

I am rough on earrings and I have thrown out more gold-tone huggies than I can count because they always go dull and coppery within a month or two, usually starting inside the hinge. These have been in near constantly since the end of February and the color has not moved. Not on the outer ribs, not inside the hoop, not around the hinge mechanism. Hairspray hits them daily and it has left no residue or dulling. My coworker asked which jeweler they came from. Five months of daily wear and they still read as proper fine jewelry.

I genuinely have not removed these since the first week of March, which means they have been through roughly a hundred hot showers with shampoo and conditioner running over them. There is no dulling, no water spotting, and no dark residue collecting in the ribbed grooves where I was sure it would build up. They have also been in a pool and through a very rainy week of vacation. Still exactly as bright and warm as day one. This is the first pair I have owned that genuinely earns the waterproof claim.

Huggies are the hardest style for me because the metal wraps right around the piercing with nowhere for skin to breathe, and I react to nickel badly. Every previous pair gave me a sore, weeping lobe inside a day. These have been in almost continuously since the start of March and I have had no reaction whatsoever. No itching, no swelling, no crusting at the back of the piercing even after sleeping in them nightly and sweating through summer. My ears have honestly never been calmer. I ordered a second pair for my other piercing straight away.

The grooves are shallow and smooth so nothing tangles. Months of wearing my hair down without a single snag.

They went in at the end of February and mostly stay in. Showers, sleep and workouts, all completely comfortable.

The texture and shine are exactly as pictured and I do love them. They sit thicker on the lobe than I'd pictured from the measurements, which took a few wears to get used to visually.
