Luna Necklace

I live in Seattle so this necklace has been rained on more times than I can count since March. It has also been through several sweaty gym sessions, a very humid week in New Orleans, and more than a few showers where I simply forgot to take it off. The gold clasp and spacers are what I expected to go first because water always finds the joints. Everything is still bright with no corrosion or dark patches anywhere. The pearls themselves have kept their glow and none of them have clouded or gone rough. I still rinse it in fresh water and dry it after a proper soaking, but it has never once punished me for forgetting.

I have had a nickel problem my whole adult life and the back of my neck is where it always shows up first. Any chain or clasp with nickel in it leaves a raised itchy patch within an afternoon and it takes a week to settle. This necklace uses stainless steel findings with nothing that reacts, which is the only reason I risked it. It has been on nearly every day since February, including through workouts and hot humid afternoons where it sat against damp skin for hours. My neck has stayed completely clear the whole time with no itching or redness. Being able to wear something this delicate every day without planning around a reaction is a real relief.

The little gold beads between the pearls are what sold me on this necklace and also what I expected to ruin it. On every pearl piece I have owned, those small findings go dark and coppery within a couple of months and the whole thing starts to look cheap. I have worn this nearly every day since late February through hairspray, perfume, sunscreen, and a lot of humid weather. Every spacer is still the same warm gold as the day it arrived with no dark rings where they meet the pearls. The clasp at the back, which takes the most sweat, is identical in color to the front of the necklace. That has genuinely never happened with anything else in my jewelry box.

Very gentle on the neck and easy to wear all day. Even at the shortest setting it sits lower than I prefer.

The lustre and the natural shapes are lovelier than I expected from the photos and I wear it constantly. It arrived in a very simple pouch, which felt a shame for a piece this pretty.

Every person who has looked closely has commented that they are clearly real. The price does not remotely reflect that. It is the best value piece I own.
