Luma Earrings

There is a certain irony in buying shell earrings and then being afraid to take them near water, so I tested them properly. A week at the coast, ocean swims every single day, rinsing under the outdoor shower each evening. The gold came home identical, no cloudy patches and no water marks caught in the spiral. I have also worn them through every morning shower since, plus a stretch of very humid weather. Not one sign that water has ever touched them.

Large gold pieces are usually the first to betray you, because there is simply more surface area to go coppery and dull. These have been in heavy rotation since the third week of February and the tone has not shifted a shade. Not on the outer curve, not down inside the spiral, not on the posts or backs. I use hairspray and perfume every morning and both land on these constantly with no effect. My sister assumed they were real gold and I let her keep thinking it. Five months of hard wear and they still look showroom fresh.

Statement earrings and I have never gotten along, partly because of weight but mostly because my lobes react to almost every metal within an hour. These have been on for entire days at a time since the start of March without a single problem. No itching where the post sits, no redness on the back of the lobe, no soreness even after wearing them through a long humid wedding day. I sweat easily and that usually makes a reaction worse, but nothing. They are genuinely the only bold earrings in my drawer that my skin will accept.

The gold finish and the sculpted form are genuinely beautiful. They're bolder than I pictured from the listing though, so they've become an evening piece rather than something I can wear to the office.

Sticky humid days and no irritation at all where they touch. Nothing rubbed even with sunscreen on.

The shape is lovely and the gold has real depth to it. They sit bigger against my face than the listing photos led me to expect. Fine for evenings, slightly much for the office.
