Kika Ring

This has become my no-thought ring, and I mean that as the highest compliment. It went with me to the coast in April and I wore it swimming in the ocean every day for a week, then rinsed it under a beach shower with sand still in my hands. It came home and went straight into pool season with my kids, plus the daily showers where I never bother taking anything off. Sunscreen, salt, chlorine, and hot water have all had their turn and the yellow stone is still as clear and bright as the halo around it. Nothing has gone dull, nothing has fogged, and no water has gotten trapped under the setting. For a ring with this many stones I honestly did not think that was possible.

I have owned a lot of statement rings in this price range and they all follow the same sad pattern, where the gold around the setting goes coppery within a month or two while the stones still look fine. I have been watching this one closely since February for exactly that reason. It has not happened. The octagonal frame is the same warm gold it was on day one, including the underside of the band where my finger sweats the most. No dark ring around the base of the center stone either, which is usually the very first place that gives out. I wear it daily, I sleep in it, and I have never polished it once. It simply refuses to tarnish.

My fingers turn red and itchy under almost every ring that is not solid gold, and stone settings are worse because the metal underneath sits right against my skin. I put this on the day it arrived in late February and I have been waiting for a reaction that never came. No itching, no redness, no dry patch when I take it off at night. I have worn it through sweaty gym sessions and slept in it more than once, which are the conditions that usually give me trouble within hours. The inside of the band is smooth and rounded so there is nothing scraping either. It is the first ring with stones I have been able to wear every single day without thinking about my skin.

Steam and sweat twice a week since March. The yellow stone is still perfectly clear. My old cocktail ring went milky in half the time.

The ring is beautiful and gets more compliments than anything else I own. It just took longer to arrive than the estimate suggested, so order early if you need it for an occasion.

Bought it as a birthday present and the mailer it came in was not gift ready at all. I moved it into a box from another purchase and it presented beautifully. The ring drew gasps, so only the packaging held it back.
