Ella Ring

This came on a two week trip and honestly lived in salt water the entire time. Snorkeling most mornings, hotel pool most afternoons, and a lot of sunscreen in between. My worry with the toi-et-moi shape was water sitting in the crevice where the two settings meet and rotting the finish from the inside. Not a trace of it. The gold in that tight junction is identical to the rest of the band, and both stones came home just as clear as they arrived. I did nothing but rinse it under fresh water each night.

Contact dermatitis from jewelry has been a problem for me since my teens and I usually cannot wear anything but titanium. I ordered this fully expecting to hand it to my sister. Four months on and the skin under the band is completely normal, no bumps and no itch, even when I leave it on overnight. The band on this style is fairly wide where the two arms cross, so there is a lot of contact area and any nickel would have made itself known within a day or two. It has been through summer heat and sweat with no reaction either. I ordered a second one in case they ever stop making it.

The bezels around each stone are where I expected trouble first, because that recessed metal is exactly where my other rings go dingy and grey. I have worn this one almost every day since February including through cooking, cleaning and a fair bit of sweating. I took a jeweler's loupe to the settings last weekend out of pure curiosity. Both bezels are still bright gold right down into the corner where they meet the stone. No dullness, no dark line, no polishing needed. It genuinely looks the same as the product photo.

I train four days a week and never remove it. Chalk gets everywhere and the bar presses right against the setting. Zero dents and no dulling on the raised gold.

I sit right between the available sizes so I went with the larger and it turns a little. Easy enough to live with and the design still looks good facing any direction. Genuinely beautiful piece otherwise.

In summer the fit is perfect, in winter it moves a bit more than I would like. Nothing that stops me wearing it every week.
