Croissant Ring

On a twisted band the raised ridges take all the friction, so that is where cheap plating wears through and starts showing something orange underneath. I have worn mine every single day since the end of February and I work with my hands, so it rubs against paper, keyboards and steering wheels constantly. Four months in the ridges are the same warm gold as the recesses. Nothing has gone brassy, nothing has darkened in the twists, and there is no shadow on my finger. I compared it side by side with a croissant ring I bought two years ago from a boutique and mine looks newer than the expensive one did after six weeks.

I wore this every day of a nine day trip to Tulum, which meant ocean, pool, outdoor showers and a lot of sunscreen. A ridged ring like this has grooves running all the way around, and grooves are exactly where salt and sunscreen collect and where my old rings turned white and crusty. This one rinsed clean under the sink every night and looked identical the next morning. There is no residue sitting in the twists, no dull patches on the ridge tops, no water damage anywhere. It has been three months since we got back and I still shower in it daily. Genuinely the first vacation ring I have not had to retire afterward.

I have contact dermatitis and jewelry is a minefield for me, especially chunky rings that sit against a wide strip of skin. My rule is that anything not surgical steel comes off within two days, and I have thrown out a whole drawer of rings learning that. I tested this one the way I test everything, a few hours, then a day, then overnight. Seven weeks later there is no itching, no redness and no dry patch underneath at all. I have worn it through workouts and showers, which is usually when a reaction shows up fastest, and my skin has not complained once. It is now the only non-steel ring I own that I actually trust.

Months in and it's still the ring I reach for first. No irritation, no pinching, nothing to adjust. It just fits.

My fingers swell in July and the 7 still slides on and off fine. No pinching along the ridges either, the inside is smooth. Five months of daily wear and it looks new.

In the listing images the wave looks more dramatic than it does in person, where it is a bit softer. I still like it, I just expected a touch more sculpting. Everything else, including the finish, is exactly as promised.
