Contour Bracelet

Two tone pieces are usually where plating fails for me, because the gold trim wears off along the edges first and you end up with a plain silver band. That is exactly what I wanted to test here. I have worn this every day since late February through gym sessions, dish washing, sunscreen, and a lot of hand lotion. I looked closely at both rims this week and the gold is completely intact with no thinning or dark patches. The silver dome has not developed any of the grey film my other bracelets get. It still looks like a new piece.

This bracelet went on my wrist in March and it has not come off since, including a week at the beach. I swam in it daily, showered in it twice a day, and rinsed off in a pool most afternoons. The gold edges are the part I expected to go first because that is where water sits after you take a swim. They are still crisp and bright with no water spotting or dullness along either rim. The silver dome came home just as reflective as it left. I have completely stopped taking it off for anything.

I have contact dermatitis and metal on my wrist all day is normally a guaranteed red itchy band by the second afternoon. I have had reactions to pieces sold as hypoallergenic before, so I planned to wear this a few hours at a time. I forgot to take it off the first night and woke up with completely clear skin. Since then it has stayed on through sweaty walks, showers, and hot weather with nothing underneath it. Four months later my wrist is exactly as calm as the day I put it on. The stainless steel really does make the difference.

In the photos the gold edging looks much bolder against the silver than it does in daylight. It is a quieter effect in person, which I have come around to. Nothing wrong with it, just a heads-up on expectations.

Heated classes five times a week and the silver still has its mirror shine. My old bracelets went cloudy in weeks from that sweat. This one has held up since April.

I wear it on the opposite wrist and the proportions feel just right together. The domed profile keeps it looking sculptural instead of flat.
