Claudia Ring

My daughter has swim practice five days a week and I sit poolside in the humidity for hours, then usually get pulled in for the last ten minutes. This ring has been soaked in chlorinated water more times this season than I can count. I fully expected the settings to cloud over or the gold between the four rows to go dull first. Instead every stone is still clear and the green ones still read as emerald, not gray. I do rinse it in the shower afterward but that is the extent of the care it gets. Three months of this and it looks like it did in the box.

I react to almost everything and my hands are the worst for it, especially in summer when I sweat under a band. Anything with nickel gives me a red itchy patch within a day or two and it takes a week to calm down. This ring has been on my finger nearly every day since March and my skin has been completely clear the whole time. That includes long humid days at work where I never take it off, plus showers and workouts. I even wore it through a bad flare of eczema on my hands and it did not make anything worse. It is the only stone ring I own that I do not have to think twice about putting on.

I have a bad habit of buying pave rings and watching the metal go coppery within a month while the stones stay fine. That contrast is what makes them look cheap and it is why I nearly did not order this one. I have now worn it since late winter with almost no days off, including through cooking, cleaning, and a very sweaty May in Texas. The channels between the four rows are still the same bright gold as the outer edges. I compared it against a photo I took the day it arrived and there is no difference in color anywhere. Whatever the plating is, it is holding better than pieces I paid three times as much for.

Lake weekends, hotel pools, and a very wet camping trip. The ring came through every bit of it without a mark. Nothing has loosened and nothing has dulled.

The ring itself is every bit as glamorous as the photos and the green is gorgeous. I had meant it as a gift, so a nicer little box would have helped.

I bought it for occasions and now I wear it to a Tuesday dinner at a neighborhood place. It dresses up a sweater without making me look overdone. Far more versatile than I expected.
