Carmen Ring

With multicolor stone rings the giveaway is always the metal between the stones, because that is where the tarnish starts and you can never polish it out. I have worn this daily since March through a humid Georgia spring, sunscreen, lotion, and a lot of sweaty afternoons. I looked at it under a lamp last week with my reading glasses on because I was convinced I would find something. The gold between every stone is still the same warm color as the rest of the band. Nothing has gone brown, nothing has gone gray, and my finger has never had a mark on it.

The thing I worried about with a stone ring was the settings, because salt water always seems to loosen something. I wore this for eight days in Gulf Shores, in the ocean, in the pool, and through a lot of showering off sand. Every single stone is still tight in its setting and none of them clouded up the way my old cocktail ring did after one trip. The gold around the stones is still bright too, no white haze in the little crevices where water sits. I rinsed it once at the end of the week and it went right back to sparkling. Three months later I still wear it in the shower without a second thought.

I have worn nothing but surgical steel and real gold for about ten years because everything else leaves me with a red itchy band. Colorful rings like this are usually a hard no for me, so I ordered it half expecting to give it to my sister. I wore it two hours the first evening, then a full day, then a full week. There is no redness, no itching, and no dry flaking under the band which is what I usually get by day four. Six weeks in it is my most worn ring and my skin has stayed completely calm. That almost never happens with anything under thirty dollars.

Five months of hot yoga three times a week with this on. Sweat has done nothing to it. The stones still catch the light in the mirror the same way they did in week one.

Shipping ran longer than I expected so it landed a couple of days after the birthday it was meant for. Once it arrived the reaction made up for the late delivery. I would just order earlier next time if it is for an occasion.

The colors and sparkle are exactly as elegant as I hoped and I love wearing it. Delivery took about a week longer than the estimate showed at checkout. Worth the wait, but I nearly missed the birthday I bought it for.
