Angelina Earrings

My ears have been a problem my whole adult life and long earrings are the worst offenders, because the weight keeps the metal working against the piercing all day. Anything but plain steel and I get a swollen sore lobe by evening and a crust the next morning. I wore these for a full eight hour workday in April as a trial and there was nothing at all, not even a tender spot. Since then they have been my go to for events and long days out, sometimes staying in for well over twelve hours. Every time my lobes have stayed completely calm. These are the first proper statement earrings I have been able to own since my twenties.

I have thrown away two pairs of hammered gold earrings because tarnish settled into the little hollows and made them look filthy from a distance. That is the whole risk with this finish. These have now been worn several times a week since February through summer heat, perfume and a lot of sweat with no sign of it. I inspected each disc individually under a bright light last week, top and back. Every dent is still clean bright gold with no grey shadow, and I have never taken a cloth to them once.

I took these to Barbados for ten days as my only pair and treated them badly on purpose. They went in the sea, in the pool and in the shower every day without once coming out. My assumption was that salt would settle into all those hammered dents and leave a dull white haze that no amount of wiping would fix. Instead they came back with every disc as bright and reflective as the day they arrived. The little jump rings between the discs did not stiffen up or discolor either. I genuinely did nothing but rinse them under the tap at night.

On me they hang a touch lower than I pictured, so they brush my shoulders in a coat. Weight and comfort are still excellent.

I live somewhere damp and wear these year round. Moisture has ruined plated earrings for me before within weeks. These have shrugged it off entirely.

I have paid four times as much for earrings that got half the attention. These punch far above what they cost. Delighted with them.
