Alessandra Earrings

Genuine nickel allergy here, the kind where costume earrings leave my lobes swollen and crusty within a day. Ordered these expecting to return them, honestly. Instead I've had them in for eight weeks with no itching, no redness and no soreness at the back, even sleeping in them most nights. My left ear has a piercing that gets angry at almost everything and it hasn't reacted once. I wore them straight through a hot week of yard work with sweat running down my neck and still nothing. If you've been burned by earrings before, these are the first ones in years that my skin just ignores.

I take these into the shower every single morning without thinking about it, and that's just the start. Two weeks in Florida meant the ocean most afternoons, a chlorinated pool with my nephews, and the resort steam room twice. Got absolutely drenched in a thunderstorm walking to dinner on the last night as well. Not a spot of water damage, no clouding in the ribs and no dark residue anywhere on the back of the post. I have honestly stopped treating them like jewelry and started treating them like part of my face.

These arrived in January and I've worn them essentially every weekday since, plus most weekends. The gold is still the same warm even tone across the whole square, no coppery patches and nothing worn thin along the top ridge where my hair drags. What made me write this is the comparison, I had two pairs of ribbed squares from a fast fashion brand before these and both were dull and blotchy inside of six weeks, one of them actually leaving green on my ear. Nothing like that here, my lobes stay clean and the ridges still throw off light exactly the way they did new. I never take them off for showers or workouts and there's no dulling to show for it. Easily the most worn thing I own.

For a three centimeter stud these are shockingly light and flat enough that they don't dig in on the pillow. No sore lobes in the morning, ever. Six weeks of sleeping in them and my ears are fine.

The earrings themselves are beautiful, the ribbed gold has such a rich look and they sit perfectly. I ordered them as a birthday gift and the packaging was quite plain, so I wrapped them myself. The earrings were a big hit regardless.

The fit and feel are excellent, they weigh nothing and my ears are happy. Shipping took a good while though and I nearly missed the event I bought them for. Worth it in the end but plan ahead.
